Beryl is a multi-BAFTA award winning director of Film, TV drama, documentary and comedy who is an Executive Producer for Eurovision. Beryl has also lectured in Film and TV drama at Falmouth University and amongst am impressive portfolio of work, has written, produced and directed a feature documentary ‘Hello Stranger’,about her neurodivergent son.

Beryl was previously on the board of Directors UK (which represents all UK film and TV directors) where she served as vice chair and then Chair, founding and leading the Directors UK’s Gender Equality Group, publishing research which continues to be used worldwide. She subsequently won the 2016 Women in Film/TV Achievement of the Year award in recognition of her gender equality campaigning in the UK and internationally. Beryl has also served as a member of the BAFTA TV and BAFTA kids committees and is currently acting as an advisory board member for Screen Cornwall.

Beryl is currently based in Falmouth, Cornwall and Killyleagh, Northern Ireland where she set up production companies Strangford Pictures Ltd and Derryboye Films Limited. Beryl joined Diverse City as Co-Chair in October 2024.
