Swim Club – a new short film

Announcements

Swim Club
An uplifting new short film, exploring the community, camaraderie, and vulnerability of a close-knit group of wild swimmers as they prepare to take the plunge into performance.

In 2022, Diverse City, in collaboration with The Mowlem Theatre in Swanage, were proud to present SW!M, a live event inspired by the open conversations had between women, wild swimming in Swanage Bay.

Watch the film now!

If you prefer an Audio Described version of the film, you can see that here.

Swim Club is a new short film that zooms in on the participants, all women between 50 and 70, as they prepare for, for many of them, their first-ever performance in front of an audience. Acclaimed documentarian Steven Lake examines the cheerful bravery of these women as they make themselves vulnerable to the audience, the elements, and each other.

Join them as they support one another through rehearsals, performance, and a lot of very cold water in Swim Club.

Swim Club is available on the Diverse City Youtube channel right now! All versions are captioned and BSL interpreted, but you can choose to watch it with Audio Description or without.

Swim Club is a short film from Diverse City and The Mowlem Theatre. Supported by The Space.
