 Our National Lottery supported project ‘Connecting Communities Through Diverse Leadership’ has been a game-changer. It has unlocked potential and empowered new leaders across the UK to be confident, creative, and visionary. As a charity dedicated to getting more people into arts and culture, we’re thrilled to share how The National Lottery funding has helped transform lives and inspire change:

 People from diverse backgrounds have found their voices, built confidence, and thrived as unexpected arts leaders through our coaching, training seminars and on the ground experience. One new leader reflected that:

“I felt heard for the first time… the programme helped me see my value and opened a path to the future.” 

Connecting Communities also brought inclusive arts to members of 7 community groups across the UK, reaching people from Plymouth to Sheffield, Rochdale, and beyond. These partnerships have helped locals connect with venues such as The Lowry, Theatre Royal Plymouth, and Lighthouse Poole, which have embraced inclusion, championed diverse voices, and strengthened community bonds. One venue partner shared:

“It was aspirational, hopeful and joyful… this project has been transformative for everyone involved.”
